MEET OUR FOUNDER
The Social Point Club was founded in 2025 by Rosemary Steffen, a competitive backgammon player who has already placed in national tournaments and won multiple events within her first year of playing. Rosemary’s rapid ascent in the backgammon world reflects both her passion for the game and her vision for its future.
But competing also revealed something missing: young adults and women were almost invisible in most backgammon spaces. Determined to change that, Rosemary launched The Social Point — a community built to make the game accessible, welcoming, and exciting. What started as a single rooftop night has quickly grown into a cultural hub, drawing consistent crowds of players in their 20s and 30s to every event.

OUR MISSION
To transform backgammon into something bigger than the board—a modern, social experience where strategy creates connection and community is built through play. The Social Point Club exists to make backgammon accessible, exciting, and culturally relevant for a new generation of players.
We design welcoming, beginner-friendly experiences that lower the barrier to entry while preserving the depth and integrity of the game. Through thoughtfully curated events, social formats, and educational opportunities, we create spaces where players can learn with confidence, grow their skills, and feel genuinely included—whether they’re rolling the dice for the first time or returning week after week.
At its core, The Social Point Club is about connection, representation, and momentum. We are intentionally building a community that invites women and young adults into the game while remaining open to anyone drawn to strategy, competition, and social play. By blending tradition with modern culture and competition with community, our mission is to shape the future of backgammon—and the people who play it.
